I’ve been blow drying my hair on medium/high heat for a few months now, and I have to say I’m really liking the results.
This, coupled with wearing updos, has really helped me retain length and make it easier to manipulate my hair into styles. In my compile natural state, my hair curls in on itself, bonds and breaks easily when manipulated. Blow dried, I’m able to part my hair and move it around without hearing it go “snap, crackle and pop.”
How I Blow Dry
It’s important for me not to blow dry my hair when it’s dripping wet. The wetter your hair, the more heat and tension you have to apply. That works to rob your hair of much needed moisture. After washing and deep conditioning, I add a heat protectant and put it into a ponytail for an hour. The goal to not have it dripping wet, but also not bone dry, which also cause the ends to snap.
I use a straightening brush that looks similar to this..
I get great results…stretched hair, full of body and shine. See?
