I’m not crazy about the price ($40) but I’m absolutely nuts about the color payoff.
I purchased this palette on the way back home from Las Vegas after our “Hangover” event. Who knew the desert was peppered with outlet stores? I received a 20% discount, but it was still a bit excessive, especially since I’ve discovered $4.49 Milani eyeshadows at CVS that work just as well and even got a rave from Paula’s Choice, aka the “Cosmetics Cop.”
That said, palettes such as this do have it’s benefits. You use less, but get a bigger pigment payoff, and I love that I can go really purple or really pink, depending on my preference. The Perarfusion shadow goes on like a powder but finishes like a cream, according to the MAC website. The range of shades goes from deep, dark purple to pale pink, and you can use a hint of color for a sweet, daytime look with a shimmery pearlized pink gloss with matching blush, or you can combine a 3-4 shade spectrum for major impact, like I did here:
You can apply the colors with either or wet or dry brush, and while it gives a great pigment, lasts up to eight hours and won’t crease, you still need a primer to get maximum benefit.
