Too $hort and XXL magazine Hate Black Women: So what else is new?

“Another day, another opportunity to treat black women and girls like trash..and profit too!” This could have easily been a line straight out of the day planners of rapper Too $hort and XXL magazine’s Editor-In-Chief Vanessa Satten.

In a video that has since been removed from the XXL site, Too Short call’s himself giving “fatherly advice” to young boys concerning how to “turn girls out”.

From the Grio:

“When you get to late middle school, early high school and you start feeling a certain way about the girls… I’m gonna tell you a couple tricks,” Too Short said in the video. “A lot of the boys are going to be running around trying to get kisses from the girls… We’re going way past that. I’m taking you to the hole.”

Then, the 45-year-old rapper, whose real name is Todd Anthony Shaw, asks women off camera to “cover their ears” to avoid being offended. Short then describes a scenario in graphic detail. “You push her up against the wall,” he continued. “You take your finger and put a little spit on it and you stick your finger in her underwear and you rub it on there and watch what happens.”

While Shaw is giving his graphic “advice,” upbeat, child-themed music plays in the background.

If case you don’t understand what the rap/hip-hop industry is really about, let me explain it to you as clearly as I can: rappers, hip-hop artists, anyone who works in that industry HATES black women. The industry is built upon degrading black women in order to turn a buck. To them, the black female body is simply grist for the mill. If you, or anyone you know, is still buying mainstream rap or hip-hop you are supporting coonery with a capital C–you are paying for your own degradation.

Honestly, I think any black woman who still buys mainstream rap/hip-hop hates herself, or, at the very least thinks that somehow the degrading of black women in general will not affect her in particular. Or either she is as dumb as a bag of rocks.

Oh, and Vanessa Satten is a white woman, but that doesn’t even surprise me. When I say *anyone* who supports or works for a magazine like XXL or supports mainstream rap music hates black women, I truly do mean anyone. Every white woman is not a feminist, every white feminist is not in solidarity with black women.

When forced to provide a weak sauce apology for the filth he spewed, Too Short came back with the weakest non-apology apology he could muster:

I want to apologize to anyone I may have offended with the XXL video interview I recently did. When I got on camera I was in Too $hort mode and had a lapse of judgement.I would never advise a child or young man to do these things, it’s not how I get down. Although I have made my career on dirty raps, I have worked over the years to somewhat balance the content of my music with giving back to the community. Just coming from a man who wants to see young people get ahead in life, I’m gonna do my best to to help and not hurt. If you’re a young man or a kid who looks up to me, don’t get caught up in the pimp, player, gangster hip-hop personas. Just be yourself.

Lets translate shall we?

Too Short: “When I got on camera I was in Too $hort mode and had a lapse of judgement.”

Translation: “I told you how I really feel about young girls. I should have known better than to be that obvious.”

Too Short: “If you’re a young man or a kid who looks up to me, don’t get caught up in the pimp, player, gangster hip-hop personas. Just be yourself.”

Translation: “I meant to save this material for my upcoming book. You have forced my hand by making me give you an early preview of my material.”

Too Short said, “Although I have made my career on dirty raps, I have worked over the years to somewhat balance the content of my music with giving back to the community.”

Let me ask you a question? Is possible to “balance” the amount of feces you eat with an appropriate amount of Vitamin D? Is it possible to “balance” the amount of alcohol you take with the appropriate amount of prescription medicine you are prescribed, medicine that clearly states it is not to be taken with alcohol?

There is no way to balance degradation with “giving back to the community”. Anything a rapper like Too Short does to give back to the community is akin to blood money.

Well, that’s all for now, until the next misogynistic rapper who hates black girls decides to speak in public in the same form or fashion in which he speaks behind closed doors. See ya next time!
