My favorite book by F. Scott Fitzgerald–and one that I will be reading again this summer– is coming to the big screen again 38 years after the first adaptation in 1974 starring Robert Redford and Mia Farrow.
This time Baz Luhrmann, fame director known for Moulin Rouge, Australia, and Romeo + Juliet has recreated this film starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Carey Mulligan.
This new film releasing December 2012, will surely be a showstopper. Not just because of its creative direction but its fashion. Giving a nod towards a time of liberation, decadence and just plain revelry.
This time period is one of my favorite when it concerns fashion, art and music. And I am excited that the flapper fashion is returning with a major modern twist. From menswear such as tuxedo pants, vests and bow ties, to flapper inspired dresses, tassel jewelry and embellished hair accessories to wine stained lips and dark silvery smoky eyes. And let’s not talk shoes: t-straps, Mary Janes and brogues. This summer will be all about the glam. So get Gatsby-ed up for summer with these fashionable pieces.
