I Know a Star When I See One: My Pal Mattew Hussey Gets a Show on NBC!

Yes he gorgeous. But he’s got a brain in that beautiful head, too. Matthew swore me to secrecy, so I knew about this possibility months ago, and am so stoked for him that the news is official. The Hollywood Reporter sanctified it.

Eva Longoria‘s upcoming NBC dating series Ready for Love has made its first three matches.

The series, which will be executive produced by the former Desperate Housewives star, has tapped Amber Kelleher-Andrews, Tracy McMillan and Matthew Hussey as matchmakers, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

Kelleher-Andrews is the CEO of Kelleher International, a search firm credited with matching Fortune 500 CEOs and A-list celebrities as well as members of the British royal family and Rockefellers.

Relationship expert McMillan has a knack for making love connections and has penned “Why You’re Not Married…Yet,” which was named one of Time magazine’s top 10 opinion pieces of 2011. The author is also an accomplished TV writer with credits including Mad Men, United States of Tara and Life on Mars.

Professional dating coach Hussey has passed along his views on human attraction to more than 50,000 women during live events with another 4 million streaming his Internet broadcasts. His corporate clients included Hugo Boss, British royalty and celebrities including Christina Aguilera.

The matchmakers will search the country for the perfect mate for three bachelors:  international financer Ben Patton, musician Tim Lopez from the Plain White T’s and Ernesto Arguello, an entrepreneur with a social vision from Miami.

The matchmakers will select teams of 12 girls, four per guy, with contestants doing their part to convince the matchmakers that they’re a fit.

Giuliana and Bill Rancic will host the series, which is set to debut in winter 2012-13.

“These are three of the best relationship experts in the world, each coming to the show with their own unique approaches to matchmaking and fostering healthy, long-lasting relationships,” NBC Entertainment alternative and late-night programming president Paul Telegdy said. “The chances of the men finding true love are infinitely better because the matchmakers hand-selected women they feel will be most compatible with each of the guys.”

Eva, you may have Matthew now, but I had him first!
