The other day my product junkie-ism was in full effect, so I decided to check out one of my favorite online retail haunts. It’s one of those flash sale operations that offers discounts on designer and name brand merchandise. I saw that purminerals was offering deep discounts. I’m a sucker for lip gloss and was this|close to buying some, until I took a gander of their ingredients.
This “pur” gloss contains some of the nastiest ingredients I’ve seen in a long time.
Petrolatum: Used to lock in moisture, but is a known carcinogen and is banned in the U.K.
Propylparaben: Been proven to be a hormone disrupter that can cause early puberty and has been linked to breast cancer.
bht: Possible carcinogen
Fragrance: Can contain hormone disrupters
Check out this article about the harmful ingredients to avoid in your makeup.
So basically these lip glosses can dub as cancer sticks, and they have the NERVE to call itself “pure.” Ladies be very careful when you buy your cosmetics. Take a second to glance at the ingredients and don’t be so quick to pick up cheap cosmetics just because you want a bargain. In the long run, what’s the long-term savings if what you use on your body can cause cancer?
My favorite NATURAL glosses of all time are made by Au Naturale. They’re highly pigmented, have staying power, and contain NO cancer-causing ingredients.
Here’s me wearing “Nudist.” It retails for only $15.00, and the ingredients won’t expose you to stuff that can cause a deadly disease.
