Well it is officially Fall. My favorite season, although I am a Spring baby. I look forward to the leaves changing their colors and the air getting cooler; the smell of cinnamon and pies baking.
My favorite part of Fall is fashion. Fall fashion is the best. Not too cold for heavy coats, but cowl neck sweaters, cardigans, skirts and jackets never go out of style. This season isn’t any different. Bright jewel tones, winter white, silver, gold, wine, navy, and black are all the rage! They exude luxury and seduction. They are definitely eye catching.
The nod toward the 1920s and 40s are here and I must admit I am excited. Mixing prints, long maxi skirts, dyed faux leather and a little bit of edge are things to look forward to. My favorite trend is statement pieces. It’s go gaudy or go home. It’s pieces that scream look at me!
I have put together a few looks for you all, based on the Statement Pieces Trend. Next week I have a few more post based on the fall trends along with the continuation of the dress for your skin tone series. Hopefully, you can take some of the looks and cater them to your own taste.
Statement Pieces–Maxi Skirt
This look is one of my favorites. I absolutely love long sweeping maxi-skirts. The print of the galaxy on the fabric makes it even more enchanting. I toned down the color by using a gray cowl neck sweater and mimic the colors in the ensemble in the accessories. This outfit is great for work and play and it whispers, “I twinkle, look at me.”
Statement Pieces–Mixing Prints (Animal and Floral Print Harmony)
Who knew floral and animal prints could sing such a beautiful melody? Well they do in this ensemble. Floral patterned pants brings a modern twist the classic leopard print. Add a pop of color and tough skull jewelry and you could be a chic modern lady walking around town, turning heads.
Statement Pieces–Leather Skirt
Fall brings out all manner of animal hide, most notably leather jackets and pants, but here’s a new look to a classic fabric. An A-line faux leather skirt. Couple it with a bright embellished top and pink blazer and hello sassy girl. The embellished heels and accessories, definitely brings this outfit to life. I dare you to give it a try.
Statement Pieces- Jewelry
All I can say is the bigger, the gaudier, the better, when it comes to wearing statement jewelry. Have fun, be bold.
Statement Pieces–Pops of Color
If you are a–I can only wear neutral colors–girl, then this is the trend for you. Throwing a pop of color with a neutral outfit can be an easy way to make a statement and brighten an oh-hum wardrobe. Take your cue from this cute little ensemble…
