I’m pooped, almost delirious from lack of sleep but I just wanted to share a few snippets of our impromptu trip along the California coast. We knew we would spend the whole day driving back yesterday, so I said, “What the hell? Let’s take the long way home and hit all the prime beach hot spots I always see on the movies.” So we stopped in Carmel, which is gorg, by the way…

But I just want to take a second to share with you something that I had to learn about quickly in being in the business that I’m in.

Never apologize for wanting more for yourself, your life and your kids. Never take scraps because someone told you that it’s all you deserve. I’ll be damned if I’ll let someone make me feel guilty because I have a nice life, a nice family and a great and supportive husband.

It truly hurts my heart that so many black women have been beaten down, so much to the point that they don’t even think that deserve even the most basic of emotional, physical and financial expectations that women of other races have. Know that from the bottom of my heart, I want every woman who reads this blog and beyond to aim high and find their bliss. I have no desire to be the ‘special snowflake.’ I’m committed to doing my part so that black women and girls can live their lives to the fullest.

I am so proud that me and The Hubster have created a safe and supportive home that our children THRIVE and are happy. I love that each and every one of them is wholly secure and know they are loved, loved, loved.

Live life grand, and live it unapologeticly.
