This past fall I decided to do something new–take a potato growing an “eye” and bury it. Lo and behold, a couple weeks later a green shoot appeared. I keep back filling it with soil as the shots grew taller and taller until they brimmed over the pot. A couple months later, I was rewarded with over half a dozen new potatoes that my son and I enjoyed Saturday afternoon.
Potatoes are so easy to grow! They just need good soil with a lot of organic matter, water, sunshine and time. Growing potatoes in a pot or barrel saves a ton of space too!
