OPEN THREAD. IRR romance and Erotica.

Heart-To-Heart-11

Well, it seems that we have readers who are interested in WM/BW romance and erotica.

Ahhhh.  A subject very close to our hearts at BB&W.  We have featured many books here on the site and I will update this thread with links to the books and writers that we have presented.

So have a good time sharing your favorites for people who are just discovering these fine books.

Here is the discussion that started over on the othere thread.

I’m sorry this is a bit off topic. I had no idea that so many white women writers are writing BWWM romance novels.

@Brenda55 Wow! You have opened up a another world of books for me! I did not imagine that this genre was so wide scale. Forget about Fifty Shades of Grey. I’m gonna browse these from now on. I wonder what the narration is like with the black women characters? I’m excited now I have new toys to play with LOLEdit

@BiaJackson @London Girl There are plenty of BWWM books on Amazon written by Black women too. Just put BWWM romance or fiction in the search engine and plenty will come up. if you’ve never read this genre before some of the Black women authors are Sienna Mynx, latrivia Nelson, Theodora Taylor, Amarie Avant, S.K. Lesley. This is pretty much the only genre I read and there are some really good books.Edit

@juleah @BiaJackson @London Girl Omfg thank you !thank you! thank you! ive been trying to get my hands on some good books. Edit

juleah

juleah

@BiaJackson @juleah @London Girl They also have some books that are free. Put free BWWM romance in the search field and you can get some that way too. Some of those aren’t the best stories but they’re good filler while waiting for one you really want to read come out.Edit

London Girl

London Girl

@juleah Eh, did you say “free book”? Chai! Kindly direct me so I can swiftly go and add to my eBook library. God bless you my dear! Mightily!Edit

juleah

juleah

@BiaJackson @juleah @London Girl I really liked Before Sunrise by Sienna Mynx, Taste of Lacey but Linden Hughes, Thursdays in Savannah by Olivia Gaines, anything from Latrivia Nelson. It’ss hard to think off the top of my head because I’ve been reading this genre since around 2006/2007 before the Kindle got really big. Once the Kindle came along I was even more addicted to thid genre.Edit

@London Girl It depends on what you like to read. Do you like series or straight shots? Sappy romance, erotica, crime family?Edit

@lom1lola

That is true. Further, there are men who write these stories also as well as black women who write WM/WW stories.

A good writer is a good writer and a good story is a good story as far as I am concerned.

London Girl

London Girl

@Brenda55 I agree with you however it is also good for black women with especially those who are creative in writing to also be beneficiaries of this. I actually assumed that these books were written by black women when I initially saw them. I would still buy them but would be excited to see black women more as a diving force behind this particular genre.Edit

@London Girl

Black women do write a number of these books.  We have featured them on this site as a matter of fact.  We will feature more very soon BTW.  I am currently working with an author now to get a series of promotional article ready for publication on BB&W.

One of the best ways to get publisher’s attention and to get more books written is to buy them and comment on them.  Publishers do lurk sites like this one to see what people are reading and what they are thinking.

@Brenda55 Wow really I did not know this, I am very happy to hear this. I am really into writing so this has got my thinking cap on big time. I didn’t even consider. Thank you for the advice about publishers I am going to read up on this.Edit

@lom1lola I discovered BWWM romance novels around the beginning of the year, and I’ve become hooked! My favorite authors are S.K. Lessly and Phoenix Daniels. I’ve read several others, but these two authors write the most captivating, interesting, and realistic stories imo.

@lom1lola

I noticed this too, but the bwwm books I buy are written by black women. We should support each other after all. The white women are just seizing an opportunity that is still widely unknown.

@jazzyfae45 I know, and I’ve been sitting on my three novels since 2006 by constantly rewriting and editing. I pray that I’ll have my two-book set out by the end of August and my third one out by the end of the year.
