Clutch wrote an article criticizing Puffy for a quote he made about black-on-black crime. Here’s what he said:
For the last couple of months we have experienced a lot of injustice and wrongdoings to a community. But there is a flip side. Yes #BLACKLIVESMATTER ! But no one will respect us if we as a people don’t have any respect for our own black lives. We are committing genocide on ourselves. We are always looking for scapegoats . We as a people hurt ourselves more than anyone has ever hurt us. That makes no sense. We as a people including myself have to take accountability and do whatever we can do individually or together to stop the madness and realize that we are KINGS and QUEENS AND Must love ourselves and each other. I know I’m rambling a little bit. #BLACKLIVESMATTER SO AS A PEOPLE LETS PRACTICE WHAT WE PREACH.!!! MAY GOD BLESS US ALL! Ii LOVE YOU!!!!!!
The magazine made a quip about “respectability politics.” I responded.
They deleted my comment, but before they did, I got this email in my inbox, and I think I need to share it with you. THIS is what the editors of CLUTCH think of Beyond Black & White. THIS is what the editors of CLUTCH think about a site that promotes black women exercising their options. If, after you read this, you believe there is not a concerted effort to silence this and us, I don’t know what else it will take to convince you.
This was an OFFICIAL STATEMENT from CLUTCH. I’ll just leave that there.
Shame on you, CLUTCH. I know for a fact that the owner of the magazine does not necessarily share these views–she’s written to me privately in support of this site. But the “who’s more racist this week?” crew that have taken over are reaping the mag these days. And there you have it.
Black male identified all day long. Simplifying Beyond Black & White as a community of black women desperate for white men, as opposed to being desperate for black men–because the pursuit of the fabled black love, no matter how soul crushing, limiting and detrimental to black women it is. As long as black women are begging black men to love them, marry them and produce legitimate children with them, the pre-approval of the GAT -DL (Guardians of All Things Dark and Lovely) will approve. How DARE I have a site saying the maybe, you just might, want to open yourself up to all races of men?
