The summer is too damn hot to wear sticky foundation or heavy powders that eventually cause my T-zone area to look like an oil slick. So when I’m not filming or working a convention, I like to keep my makeup extremely minimal. I basically just stick with the essentials–fill in the eyebrows, some mascara, and some gloss.
I’ve added a few items to my daily routine and have gotten some great results. In the following picture, I only have brow shaping powder, Clinique “Even Better,” and Bobbi Brown’s Retouching Powder in yellow.
Milani Brow Fix Kit ($7.99)
I feel kind of stupid for spending three times as much for the same coverage, plus the kit is super cute. It’s got two shades to match your natural brow color, plus a miniature tweezer, sponge applicator and brow brush. Take them all out, and you can use the magnifying mirror it also includes so you can draw your brows really close up, apply the highlighter at the brow bone, and tweeze the strays. The powder goes on great and stays all day. Absolutely no need to touch up. Love it.
Clinique Even Better Skin Tone Correcting Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 ($47.00)
I got this as a sample at a make up store outside of Las Vegas and I could hardly believe the immediate results. The product’s claim to fame is that is minimizes dark spots, brightens, exfoliates and provides sun protection. Uhmmm…yes please! I don’t know how they do it, but they did it. The cream has no pigment, yet when I apply, my skin looks as if it has a layer of foundation.
Bobbi Brown Retouching Powder ($38.00)
Okay..I’m loving that this powder is yellow and matches my undertones. I lightly apply this powder to take away any shine and give my skin a more airbrushed look. This collection also comes in pink, peach and coral so you’ll find the right one for your skin tone.
