Clement Ribeiro S/S 2013 London Fashion Week |
Winter still has us in her grip in the Northern Hemisphere and it would seems that tempest will not pass soon. However, she will in about six weeks. But until then we can celebrate the ‘barren’ season with the customary warm clothing of knitted sweaters, long skirts, and pants in style.
Dolce and Gabbana S/S 2013 controversial runway show pointed us in the right direction when it comes to trends. Although, Sicilian in nature, it had the baroque style and print stamped all over it.
Baroque or the “gilded age” is know for its gilded swirly, paisley, and damask patterns and large florals. Ornate stampings, bold colors, velvet and pearl accessories are staples in this trend which are perfect for winter. Think Art Nouveau, in the 17th century.
Starlets Rocking the Baroque style
