Here’s the skinny from Think Progress:
The wife of a prominent North Carolina state senator and supporter of Amendment 1 — a proposed ballot initiative that would outlaw same-sex marriage, civil unions, and domestic partnerships in the state — claimed earlier this week that her husband advocated for the measure to protect the “Caucasian” race.

Say what you want about gay marriage, but opposing it for the sake of preserving white people is almost the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. What’s this chick want to do, force gay men and women to mate and have babies for when the race war starts?

I say this is almost the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. An equally dumb thing I’ve heard was from an email I got from a woman months back which essentially said this:

Dear Ms. Karazin,
I appreciate the work you’ve done with your No Wedding No Womb campaign, and I believe that it’s best that two parents raise their children. But don’t you ever wonder, because most black people aren’t getting married, that it will exterminate the black race?

I never answered her. I just…could not.
