Everyone knows I love me some beer. But since I gave up eating so much sugar and carbohydrates I had to consider drinking *gasp!* light beer. Tastes may vary, but prior to drinking Michelob ULTA, light beer tasted like something left over in the kiddie toilet. I have no idea how they did it, but Michelob has managed to completely shock my taste buds away with their new taste offerings. Even The Hubster, who fancies himself as a beer connessieur buys a 12-pack of the stuff every grocery day. But sometimes, even though I’ve reduced my sugar intake to 15-20 grams a day, I still crave something sweet, but am completely digging my heals in before I ever have another 1,000-gram mudslide. So when the folks at Michelob asked the BlogHer crew to write a review for their new ULTRA Light Cider, I was all, “bring it.”
The cider is naturally sweetened, gluten-free, and made from REAL! apples. Drinking it only puts 120 in the calorie bank and while it’s sweet, it’s not syrupy sweet and naturally sweetened with stevia (yesss!). I have it on ice, but you can drink it straight if you have a bunch of kids like me and just…need it.
How to Enjoy It
Because the cider is sweet, I’m thinking it’s not good to pair with chocolate or anything. Last weekend we had it with salmon and it was scrum-diddly-ump-tous.
Which favorite summer meal or activity do you think would go best with Michelob ULTRA Light Cider?
